Vocal chops and manipulated vocal samples are a staple of so many genres in 2018. You will often hear them in genres like Future Bass, Trap, House, Pop, and Hip Hop just to name a few.

Vocoders were pretty popular with dance music in the late 90's. Daft Punk made them mainstream in the dance world with some huge hits like Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.

This video will show you how to combine a modern vocal chop with the unique sound of a vocoder. This video uses Izotope Vocal Synth and the stock vocoder in Logic X to pull of the sound. If you don't have vocal synth from Izotope, or use Logic X, you can still apply the techniques covered in the video with the resources you do have.
